    In July 1993, the fourth and so far last generation of the Supra came on the market. Internationally, this type is called " Supra MKIV ".

    In early 1986, the third generation of the Supra was introduced. It is also the first that has not been marketed with the suffix Celica.

    The second generation was presented in the fall of 1981 and had a completely independent drive with the new (170 hp) 6-cylinder engines.

    The first Supra built from spring 1978 to summer 1981 was still offered as a top version of the Celica first in Japan and later in the United States.

    Hallo Jungs,

    gestern war ich wieder einmal unterwegs und bin immer noch nicht schlau geworden mit der MKIV AT. Wann schaltet sie zwei Gänge runter, und wann nur einen? Oder kommt immer nur der nächste tiefere zum Zug?

    Ich wollte bei einer Autobahneinfahrt ein bischen beschleunigen, irgend ein aufgemotztes Auto klebte am Heck. Als ich bei 80 km/h loslegte, kam zuerst einmal fast nichts. Bei 140-150 habe ich dann losgelassen und musste feststellen, dass kein einziger Schaltvorgang stattgefunden hatte, also war ich offensichtlch immer im dritten Gang? Ich habe ihn dann etwas später problemlos überholen können bei ca. 140 (obwohl er sich dagegen gewehrt hat), weil dann erst die Post ab ging im Dritten Gang.

    Kann man das irgendwie beeinflussen mit dem Overdrive und dem TRC Knöpfchen? Ich wollte es noch nicht so genau ausprobieren, da ich ja grosse, dicke Schlappen drauf habe, die bei diesen Temperaturen bickelhart sind. Ich habe eigentlich beides immer eingeschaltet.

    Bei der MKIII wusste ich, dass sie ohne Overdrive mit 100 auch noch in den 2. Gang schaltete, was natürlch einem Tritt in den Rücken ähnlich war. Könnte man die MKIV mit 80-100 auch noch in den 2. Gang zwingen, ich meine natürlich ohne MANU? Und welche Geschwindigkeiten kann man mit dem 2. und 3. Gang erreichen? (In der Betriebsanleitung steht glaube ich was von 132 km/h im 2. Gang).

    Sorry, dass ich Euch damit so zutexte, aber irgendwie müssen wir dieses Forum doch auch im Winter am Leben erhalten hehe.
